Friday, January 23, 2009 marked a very exciting and important day in our adoption journey. It is the day we officially became a family in waiting. We are on the wait list!!! We will now wait for the referral of our two beautiful children. The expected wait time is 4-6 months and then an additional 3-5 months to travel.

I cannot put into words what it means to be at this place in the process. It has been two years since we decided to adopt and it felt like this day would never come. It feels so official now and we are so excited about the future.

Here’s to waiting…

Congratulations on making the wait list! How very exciting. Do you guys ever go on Tues. nights to the Queen with the other adoptive families? We've only been a few times.

So excited to read that you are adopting siblings. We started our adoption thinking we would adopt one child and possibly two. However, three is what God had in mind and we are very excited!

Thanks for stopping by our blog. I look forward to following your story. Hopefully we'll get to meet some day. Feel free to email me at dustnik92 at hotmail dot com.

Again, congratulations! One step closer!

Hey There! I was just doing some blog stalking and came across yours. My husband Phil and I are on our agency's waitlist to adopt from Ethiopia as of last Friday as well! And we're also adopting 2 children under 3 (or 3 1/2)! Oh- and we also started the process just under 2 years ago (March 17, 2007). Can't wait to see what happens with your adoption! We'll be praying for you.

Many Blessings,
Amy W.

Hi Katie,

I just received an email this weekend saying the group is changing up the dinner schedule at the Queen. I think the group will meet every month on a Saturday night. This works better for our schedule also!

Have a great week!
